This Week In Painting 10/16/08

Ok, so it’s end of week 1 and time to see what we’ve got. I already had a bit of a head start on this first week with some work on the Harbinger, but the bulk has been done recently.

The main body is done now, complete with shoulder pads.

That leaves the 3 acolytes and the 2 flowing streamers. I’ve already started on those, too.

This one miniature has already taken a much bigger chunk of time to complete then I had first anticipated, but that’s ok. I want this to be the best I can get it right now since it’ll be the centerpiece of my army.

The large areas of rippled fabric are the biggest time eaters to get the highlights and shadows blended well enough to keep it from looking cartoonily painted or flat as a board. But the detailing on bits of red and gold accents is certainly taking it’s fair share. I’d estimate that by the time I’m done with this mini it’ll have taken me about 30 man-hours of painting time start to finish. Eh, wouldn’t be the first time.
